Ronnie’s debut in Championship League Snooker ends in disapointment
It had all started well though as Ronnie won his first two matches, even forging a 3-0 victory over Marco Fu who currently tops the table with 5 points. However, surprisingly, he lost all of his subsequent four matches, winning just one more frame in the process. This means that he finishes last of his group and is out of the tournament.
It has been reported by Dave Hendon, assistant editor of Snooker scene, that Ronnie has hurt his hand sometime between his second and third match. The injury doesn’t seem to be too bad but without further information it is difficult to assess how much bearing this had on Ronnie’s performance.
Let’s hope Ronnie can put this disapointment behind him quickly and, very importantly, that he will be fully fit to play when he faces Neil Robertson in his first round match at the Masters next week. He certainly will need to be.
Take care Ronnie and good luck.

Sorry to hear about the injury. Will be rooting for Ronnie at Wembley on Tuesday. Hopefully the snow won’t hold back the crowds from getting to this great event!

This sounds like a very lame excuse. I saw the matches and Ronnie was outplayed. Just lose like a man for a change.

iH Ron, its Jen, take care of that back injury. No ones to see you in pain or suffering. So remember your health is very important. All the best Jennyx

Jen
Pain or suffering? Have you any idea what that is? It isn’t a broken fingernail.
January 9th, 2010 at 8:14 PM
As I wrote earlier, the news about n injury was reported by Dave Hendon on twitter and this before the CLS was over, before the last day’s matches in fact. Ronnie himself said nothing at all as far as I know. So there isn’t any “excuse”. Mark Selby said he got a kind of flu and hopes to be ok for the Maters. Is this excuse? I don’t think so. It just happens unfortunately.
As for “suffering” nobody except the person itself knows exactly what it is about or not. Not Jen but you neither Alex.
January 9th, 2010 at 9:53 PM
Suffering isn’t having a cold or having a slightly bad finger. Maybe you have never seen the news?
January 9th, 2010 at 10:08 PM
I certainly do. But you don’t need to suffer deep to be hindered when it’s about high level performance. And that’s true for all players and all sportsmen in general. Not that’s a big deal. It’s part of the sports highs and lows on dayly level.
January 9th, 2010 at 11:31 PM
I’m sure, that Ronnie’s place in PL – it’s Ronnie’s place!
January 10th, 2010 at 4:32 PM
I’m going to take a wild guess that Alex is not an O’Sullivan supporter…but anyway, if a player, injured or not continues to complete matches they are not making any excuses for their level of play. All that was expressed was concern about how a hand injury (or the flu) could be a hinderance during the Masters. The topic of suffering was from a sporting injury angle, not world events, pure and simple.
January 12th, 2010 at 7:12 AM
Get well Ronnie and good luck for the Masters.
January 13th, 2010 at 3:27 PM
Hay Alex, which part of bad back don’t you understand. Broken finger nail, I imagin you’ve never had a broken finger nail, becaues they can also be just as painful inthere own way. Smile

I take back the smile and as Brooklyn says I didn’t mean suffering as in world events. I purely meant suffering with regards to pain be that a finger of another painful injury anyway I don’t have to explain my message to you. All the best Ron.
