Ronnie O’Sullivan stepped up a gear this afternoon, played sublime snooker and beat an inform Mark Williams 13-10. Congratulations to Ronnie and commiserations to Mark. Ronnie now plays either Mark Selby or Stephen Hendry in the Quarter Finals.

Fantastic play Ronnie. You were wonderful, three centuries, wow! It’s always so exciting when you are playing, everybody loves you, you get such a great welcome when you come into the arena. Wish I had been there. Love the song by the way.

Stunning display of snooker today! The break building in the last few frames to close the match out was just awesome. Nice to see Williams playing well but Ronnie, you were just too hot to handle today!

Ronnie seemed more assured in this session for whatever reason. Some of his shot selections in the first two sessions were adventurous and he didn’t look settled to me. Hopefully this will boost his confidence. Regarding his post match interview, he needs to learn to see the quality of his play through the eyes of his fellow professionals as well as through his own experiences. Most if not all would love to play like him.

I agree, the interview shown that Ronnie now has to leave the game – Ronnie is trying to poison the game of snooker, because of his own frustration and personal failings at the table. His true colours are showing through now.
He was never in Hendry’s class.
