World Championship 2010 – Round 1 – Ronnie 10 – 7 Liang Wenbo

Ronnie is through to the 2nd round of the World Championships, he managed to stave off a monumental fight back by Liang Wenbo, but the lead Ronnie built up in the first session proved too much. Ronnie now faces Mark Williams in the next round and will have to up his game if he wants to progress in this years tournament.

    Oh, my god!! What a match!! At 17:00 I came from work,suppose, that Ronnie have won his match.
    I looked on the telly and what can I see? Ronnie, what was wrong with you?
    The only thing I like to do at moment, is to give you a big hug!
    I´ve got a nervous breakdown this afternoon, but I really love you!!!

    That was a close thing! 9 : 3 and Ron couldn’t finished it. That must be a blackout feeling – there sit on chair and have to watch your opponent get frame for frame for…
    Congratulations to Ron for keep the concentration and win with his “B-game”. I couldn’t never have such nerves of steel. Good luck for the next round and I wish Ronnie does find again his A-game and spellbind us with his snooker.

    What a match. Gr8 fightback from Liang, trailing 7-2,then 9-3. The damage was done yesterday, too big a deficet for Liang. Hard fought match for Ron.

    I’m not sure whether this will ever reach you Ronnie, but after watching another of your interviews today after your 10-7 win i felt compelled.

    I’m a 18 year old guy and i’ve always loved snooker, especially when you play. I see much of myself in you, i’m always down and i struggle with depression, but when i see you play i leap and shout and scream about every miss or amazing shot. I just wish you,d believe in yourself. You’ve given me some fantastic snooker to watch in my life; the late masters gave me a great week and i follow most of your games. You’re an amazing talent and i wish you all the best in life and in snooker. You’re a great guy and an inspiration – i loved the China interview.. almost cried laughing haha.. keep up the good humour!

    You can win. ;-)
    You will be the champ 2010 if you use your skill and will whithout distraction and a split up.
    But if you use it with LOVE and REST
    you will be the BEST.

    I thought Alex Higgins and Jimmy White were genuines, and I am sure you’ve heard this all before but what a person/player and world champion ready to become once again in 2010. I really hope you go out there and give your opponents a lesson in the art of snooker. You have the game (as you well know) just move with the groove and play like the Ronnie we love…. yeah that’s right smooth!!! Be good to yourself and if those demons enter your head, write a poem, or go for a run instead (14 miles is a bit much, but if it works)

    Am I wrong when I guess you don’t like the man too much?
    Why do you watch him playing then? I have been told that there is a little button at the telly, called the off button. Or, even better, why don’t you watch the other table on your PC?

    Well, I like him and I like Mark Williams. I am looking forward to the match Mark v Ron. Fingers crossed for a good match and may the better player win.
